The Retrofit Kit turns a classic Vitamix into a vacuum blender. It comes with the VOID vacuum lid, a 1.8 liter jar and an adapter gasket. The jar goes on your base where your Vitamix jar does, and your Vitamix motor does the blending. Smoothies come out smoother, with less foam and less browning, and they don't separate as fast in the glass. Your own jar goes back on the same as before.

What it fits

Vitamix bases with a grooved black rubber pad: the 5000, Super 5000, 5200, 5300, 6300, 6500, 7500, 780, Pro 300, Pro 750, CIA, TurboBlend, and the Explorian E310, E320 and E520. Some bases need a small trim to the VOID adapter gasket before the jar seals. The trim is to our gasket, not to your base, and it doesn't affect your VOID warranty. The kit doesn't fit the Ascent or Venturist, the smooth-top bases with no pad. For those, see the Complete System, a full vacuum blender with its own base and jar.

In the box

  • The VOID lid with its silicone sealing gasket
  • A 1.8 liter BPA-free Eastman Tritan jar with a 304 stainless steel blade assembly
  • A VOID Vitamix adapter gasket
  • A tamper, and a basic hard lid with its own gasket and removable vent
  • A magnetic wireless charger, a magnetic USB-A cable and a USB-A to USB-C adapter
  • The user manual

Neither the lid nor the jar is dishwasher safe. Full care instructions are under Care and cleaning below.

Returns and warranty

You have thirty days from purchase to return or exchange it on U.S. orders. On a change of mind return you cover the return shipping, and it needs to be sent back within 7 business days or a 10% fee applies. If you're returning it because it doesn't fit your blender, that return is free. Keep your receipt showing the purchase date. We can't accept returns on orders shipped outside the United States, though the warranty still applies to those orders.

Warranty runs three years on vacuum lids, five years on blender bases, and one year on jars. The warranty page sets out what a repair costs and when.

Questions, a return or a warranty claim: email CS@voidvac.com. Spare gaskets, jars, blade assemblies and chargers are in the Spare Parts collection.

Care and cleaning

VOID lids and jars aren't dishwasher safe. Rinse the lid under running water with a little dish soap, but do not submerge it, and keep the wireless charger away from water. The gasket comes off so you can clean underneath it.

Do not refrigerate or freeze the lid, and do not pour boiling water into it.

Shipping is calculated at checkout. VOID lids are designed and assembled in the U.S.A.

The twenty-minute test

We put the same ingredients into two VOID blenders and ran one with the vacuum on and the other with it off. These photographs were taken 20 minutes after pouring.

Four steps

Loading a VOID jar with fresh fruit
1

Load the jar. Greens and leaves on the bottom, frozen fruit and ice on top.

Seating the VOID lid on the jar and choosing a preset
2

Put the lid on, pick a preset, press Go. Wet the gasket first and it lifts off easier later.

3

Turn the lid off, then blend. The vacuum holds on its own while the blades do the work.

4

Pull the red tab and pour. Venting breaks the seal. Until then the lid stays locked shut.

Not sure this is the one for your blender?

Choose your blender below. If it's a Vitamix we ask one follow-up question, then tell you which product to order.

What blender do you have?
Lift the jar off and look at the top of the base.
Where are you ordering from?

Pick one of the options above and the answer appears here.

The lid fits your Blendtec.

Order the lid on its own. It fits the jar you have, and you don't need the kit or the Complete System.

WildSide+, WildSide and Fourside jars all work, and so does the Professional 800 with its sound enclosure in place. If you'd rather have the whole thing in one box, the Complete System is a full blender with the vacuum lid included.

See the VOID lid, $199.00

For a Ninja or KitchenAid, order the Complete System.

The lid seals only against Blendtec and VOID jars, so it won't fit yours. The Complete System is a full blender with the vacuum lid included and a basic lid for ordinary blending, so it takes the place of the one you have.

Email us a photo and we'll check.

Send a picture of your blender to CS@voidvac.com and we'll tell you whether the lid fits it before you order anything.

If you'd rather not wait, the Complete System is a full blender with the vacuum lid included, so it doesn't depend on what you have. It has a US plug for 100 to 120 volt outlets.

The Retrofit Kit fits your base.

It includes a VOID jar and adapter gasket that fit your base, and your Vitamix motor does the blending.

That covers the 5000, Super 5000, 5200, 5300, 6300, 6500, 7500, 780, Pro 300, Pro 750, CIA, TurboBlend, and the Explorian E310, E320 and E520. Some bases need a small trim to the VOID adapter gasket before it seals. The trim is to our gasket, not your base, and it doesn't affect your VOID warranty. If it still doesn't fit after that, the return is free on U.S. orders.

Those bases take the Complete System.

A smooth top with no rubber pad is a Self-Detect base, and the Retrofit Kit doesn't fit it. The Complete System is a full blender with its own base and jar and a basic lid for ordinary blending, so it takes the place of your Ascent or Venturist.

This covers the Ascent A2300, A2500, A3300 and A3500, and the Venturist.

Send us a photo of the base and we'll tell you.

Email a picture looking down at the top of the base, where the jar sits, to CS@voidvac.com. We'll tell you which one you need before you order anything.

A grooved black rubber pad takes the Retrofit Kit. A smooth top with no pad, which is the Ascent or the Venturist, takes the Complete System.

We don't ship outside the United States from this site.

The lid and the Retrofit Kit fit the same blenders wherever you are, and the lid charges from any USB port, so voltage isn't the issue. Delivery is. Email us your country and your blender and we'll tell you the current options.

Orders shipped outside the United States can't be returned, though the warranty still applies and we'll repair it.

Ordering from outside the US

Buy from LUBA, our European distributor.

LUBA GmbH in Germany sells the lid and a compatible jar under the Madalga name, on their own delivery and returns terms, and ships across Europe.

The lid is the same one we make here and the fit is the same: Blendtec jars take the lid on its own, classic Vitamix bases take the VM2 jar. LUBA doesn't list the Complete System.

How to order in Europe

Start with the blender you have.

Choose it above. If it isn't on the list, or you don't have a blender yet, the Complete System is a full blender with the vacuum lid included.

On U.S. orders, if it doesn't fit your machine, the return is free.

Love my void conversion kit for my Vitamix. It's awesome and is a total game changer for smoothie making.

So far so good. My void is working fine, so times it takes a while to start up but nothing serious. I'm glad I made the purchase.

Pretty good sometimes liquid gets in the 3 holes on the bottom of the lid when I blend it.

Vitamix complete retro fit

I do not care for the design of the splendor jar. It is so much smaller than my Vitamix original blender jar and the plastic also does not seem to be very high-quality. Also, my void lid does not suck all the oxygen out of the jar it for some reason just never gets it all out and keeps trying. I do not believe it is worth the money.

Great product

I am loving my Void Vacuum that works with my Vitamix. Easy to use and clean, holds a charge after weeks of daily use and definitely makes more vital and delicious smoothies and drinks. The Void customer service has been excellent. I would definitely buy it again.

Tastier food

I bought the void vacuum blending system for better tasting smoothies and dressings and am not disappointed. The leftovers stay fresher longer as well. Thank you void products!

Absolutely love this thing. I kinda always wonder if I’m using it correctly or if there’s a way I could be using it more effectively. (Basically I always have it set to Vac+ and just let it run until the numbers stop going up, then I turn it off and blend.) But even so, I just love it and use it nearly daily.
